WELCOME TO MY BLOG

Hi I'm Christin Rose and I appreciate you stopping by my blog! I'm a photographer based in Los Angeles, California. The inspiration for my photos is to tell true stories & to pay extra attention to the sweet stuff that surrounds us constantly. Hope you enjoy.

Inspired by a realization that I am blessed to be surrounded by some unbelievably talented people, I've decided to start a regular blog section titled 'almost famous'. It's a tribute to the people that are pursuing their dreams, making things happen and closer than they realize to having it all come to life. Who better to start with than gifted singer, songwriter, and actress Emma Fitzpatrick. Her fearlessness and attention to what she loves is what has driven this Nashville gem to quick success within a year of moving to LA. Tonight she'll be performing with Aaron Beaumont at The Hotel Cafe in Hollywood, http://www.hotelcafe.com/. Even with all the success Emma has already had, she finds a way to remain so humble and thankful for every last bit of it. I was sitting at her house, in sweats, eating pizza on Monday night just listening to her belt out songs she's written - thinking to myself, this girl is the real deal. I can't even imagine where she'll be in 5 years, or 10 years from now  if she continues to do what she's doing. She also performs at the Dresden in Los Feliz, http://www.thedresden.com/ regularly, where I took some photos at her last show. Good luck tonight Em! You're an inspiration.

Just live in the moment.

Seems easy enough, right? Just have fun, don't worry about tomorrow or where you'll be 10 years from now or if your dreams will ever manifest into anything like you had imagined, just be.

HA! When I was younger that felt easy. Today: well that's a different story. For the dreamers out there reading this I think you know what I mean....

With hopes of taking my photography career to grand places, I can't seem to stop thinking about the next thing I should do, person I should shoot, or piece of equipment I should buy to help me "get there." Sometimes I move so fast with all my new ideas and put so much energy into building my business I can't keep up with myself.

At my age, (24 that is!), it's all about chasing; maybe that be success, love, or happiness. And while the chase can be beautiful, I think those of us that want something so bad need to be reminded to slow down, look around, and consider the blessings already surrounding us. Maybe we should try harder to actually enjoy the ride. As an artist it's not about how fast you "get there." It's about how sweet the ride is. And the people you connect with along the way.

In perhaps one of the coolest books of all time, "Ignore Everybody and 39 other Keys to Creativity," Hugh McLeod, (possibly one of the coolest writers of all time) starts his second to last chapter out with this:

"As Buddha says, there is no one road to Nirvana. Enlightenment is a house with 6 billion doors. While we're alive, we intend not to find THE DOOR, not a DOOR, but to find OUR OWN, UNIQUE DOOR."

That line is what inspired this friendly reminder to myself that there's a sweet balance between focusing on where you're going and enjoying what's right in front of your face. Those of us that want big things in life need to be reminded of this.

Create something beautiful TODAY. Make moments that count and let your dreams take on a life of their own.

With that said, the first office of Christin Rose Photography is up and running. Conveniently it's located 3 steps from my bed in Los Feliz, California. I'm sure there will be many more offices; probably with more space, more equipment, more clients, maybe even a desk chair instead of this little stool I'm sitting on!

But until then... I'm pretty happy being right HERE.

Chris:
I love what you said about "maybe we should try harder to actually enjoy the ride." I couldn't agree with you more, but unfortunately I tend to want to move quickly to the next 'door' when what I really should be doing is taking a moment to stop and look around at where I am currently sitting. I think if I took the time to do this more often, I would realize that my life currently, in this moment is truly blessed. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. They are an inspiring reminder to just 'LIVE IN THE MOMENT!' Congrats on your new office :) I am so proud of you.

By way of Nashville, Emma Fitzpatrick took the plunge less than a year ago into the land of the stars. Since then, she has found her way onto many Hollywood sets and stages. We piled into my jeep and she pulled out a baby pink vintage dress and paired it with a leather jacket. That my friends sums up, Emma, entirely. She's fearless, knows exactly what she wants, gets it on the regular and still finds a way to charm anyone that comes in her path. She's got a rock star vibe and backs it up with the way she lives her life. But somehow, like that baby pink she sneaks in some sweetness. She lights up any room. She is a songwriter. A dreamer. She is dynamite.

You could go an entire lifetime and not meet someone as special as Katen Singler. She is genuine. She is fearless. She is a dreamer. She is kind-hearted. And as you can tell from these photos, she's as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. It just so happens, she is one of my best friends in the world. We grew up together and I guess you could say have been through thick and thin. After I had been in LA for a year, she found her way down here too join me and chase her dreams in dance and sports business. As we enjoy our early 20's in Los Angeles together, we've ran into a few more challenges than we did when we were 15 but one thing is for sure, nothing would be as sweet without her here. When she asked me to do some photos of her for a dance workshop she was putting on, I was honored! We got up early and were on our Los Feliz roof shooting just as the sun was waking up this wild city. It will be amazing to see what this little lady does in the next few years!
